PRIME-LINE Solid Brass Vintage Door Knob Spindle Set, 2-1/4 In. Diameter, Satin Nickel (Single Pack)

These vintage style door knobs, constructed of steel and featuring a satin nickel finish, are designed for indoor use only. Designed to fit square drive spindle systems commonly found in antique and vintage door hardware sets, this classic knob set can adjust to accommodate different door thicknesses. The set includes a 17/64 inch x 3-1/2 inch steel spindle with 3/8 inch -20 threads.

The shanks on these knobs feature set screws for fastening them to the square spindle, but the internal mortise lock body, door rosettes, trim and strike plates, and latch and fasteners are not included and must be purchased separately. For solid brass knobs, see Prime-Line part E 2297.

Note that this item cannot be used on pre-bored doors with large, newer style door knob holes without first preparing the surface. To do this, the large 2-1/8 inch (approximate size) holes must first be filled with a hardening filler, such as Fix-It-All® or Bondo Body Filler®, to provide a solid surface for the rosette fasteners (purchased separately). Care must be taken to avoid damaging any prefinished door surfaces during this process.

Additionally, it is recommended to apply a small amount of Loctite ThreadLocker 271® to the set screw threads to prevent them from loosening.

These knobs are constructed from solid brass and plated in a satin nickel finish. They feature a 1/4 in. square spindle shaft and are suitable for use on various exterior and interior locksets.
